Our Mission

At Cheviot, we believe in producing high-quality products that neatly interest traditional and contemporary forms. This Paradigm shift has allowed us to uproot routine bathroom activity and evolve them to be more intimate and essential.

In 1984, Cheviot was founded by Zul Amlani in his basement in BC - selling bathroom sinks.
In 1987, the company expanded distribution to WA and OR and in 1988 Cheviot continued the growth to include all of Canada and US.
In 1991, Cheviot introduced European made cast iron bathubs to its collection.
In 1996, Cheviot introduced bathroom faucets to its collection.
In 2015 Cheviot introduced Master Collection Bathubs and 2017 solid surface bathubs was added to the line up.
In 2019, Cheviot moved to Seaborne Ave, office/warehosue - increased square footage by 100%
In 2022, Cheviot established direct to conusmer business via cheviotproducts.com

About Us

Cheviot was founded in 1984 by Zul Amlani. Now living on his third continent and in need of a bathroom sink, he discovered that he was unable to find in North America, products of the style, quality, and applications he was accustomed to in other parts of the world. What started as a search for a bathroom sink evolved into a desire to connect North American homeowners to cultures, traditions, and manufacturing techniques from around the world so they could express more worldly lifestyles in their own homes.

North American bathroom fixture distribution is dominated by volume and price. At Cheviot we take a different approach. We start by examining the historical/geographical context of our partners. This includes everything from working with a family owned cast iron producer in Europe on our bathtubs, to diving into the ancient and deeply rooted bath culture of Turkey for our ceramics. Our Designer Collections boast work from acclaimed Italian, American, Brazilian, and Japanese designers, each bringing a unique outlook and philosophy to their collections. These are the stories that Cheviot products tell.

Another example is the use of Vitreous Enamel in our sinks which will ensure a lifetime of durability and ease of cleaning.
